Best Small Business Award Goes to... us!

The very smart organisation Women in Business NI hosts an awards ceremony every year. This year we were finalists in the Best Small Business category. Sarah and me very humbly went along to a very grand Gala evening, it was a huge to do, people were decked to the nines. Gorgeous women in gorgeous frocks, truly the most amazing hair styles I've ever seen by the chicas from La Bella Vita Hair and Beauty and some very good Northern Irish banter at our table in the back.
So lucky to rub elbows with powerful and amazing women like Kelly Neill of Panacea Drinks, the tastiest and most refreshing Kefir waters known to man and Sarah Mackie who along with her husband own one of the most beautiful events venues in Northern Ireland Larchfield Estate. And the wicked smart Niamh Boyle who founded Digital Twenty Four a digital marketing company that is now so busy she needs cloning science to be discovered quick.
Being amongst such great company made traversing through the tables that much more exciting when we were announced the winners!
We were so honoured to have won and receive the recognition of the respected judges. One judge Hester Larkin pulled us over after the ceremony to say how much she believes in what we are doing. It meant the world to us, that personal touch.
Thank you to the judges and the Women in Business NI. What a great night and experience, we are so grateful and inspired to keep building on what we are doing and to pass on the excitement of being an entrepreneur or working to make a dream come true.
If you are interested in starting your own business, do not hesitate. While it is relentless (even when you are switched off you are working) it is the most meaningful and satisfying work you will ever do. A very wise friend (thanks Fee) once told me this and it helped me take the plunge.
At Little Citizens we believe in our heart the importance of bringing more creativity into the world, supporting toy makers, illustrators and artists who expose us to beautiful new ways of seeing the world and help us better prepare little citizens for the uncertain and exciting future ahead.
