We recently had the pleasure of interviewing Emmanuel Nouveau, the founder and designer of the beautifully made ride-on toys Baghera. Here's a little snapshot of this amazing business owner, husband, father, designer and passionate toy lover Emmanuel Nouveau.

Where are you from? 

I am born and I grew up in Paris  

Where are you based? 

Near Paris: Versailles which is a good compromise between the city and the countryside 

Describe your neighbourhood?  

It’s a wonderful mix between the luxury of the Chateau de Versailles, and the simplicity of the café-croissant on the terrace in the shade.  

What inspired you to come up with your company/product? 

As a child, I used to walk past the magnificent windows of the famous Paris store "LeNainBleu”. I used to dream of these white tin cars, picture myself as an unrivalled driver, traveling the world and winning legendary racers: LeMans, Monaco, Montlhery, Riverside  

What were some of your biggest challenges in starting your business? 

I had to seek reliable partners, who embraceour high standards of quality, style, and ethics. 

How do you get the word out to get more fans? 

I surround myself with a young team that was born with social networks! 

Can you name any celebrity followers? 

I don’t exactly know who they are but I know that some of our products were in movies or TV shows.    

What’s the best compliment you have ever been paid? 

When people tell me that Baghera is giving them back their child's soul 

Managing a business and having a family is a lot of work, what’s your secret for staying organised? 

To be married to a wonderful wife! We are a great team!  

What’s the best part of being your own boss? 

Freedom and independence 

How do you feel about parenthood? 

A great adventure that lasts a lifetime 

How have you changed since you became a parent? 

Being a parent obliges you to perpetually question yourself. Which is very useful for running a business 

What is unique about designing for children? 

To be a little child yourself 

What are your future plans for your business / designs? 

We now turn to the West to chase our next dream, continuing to live by the words of Eleanor Roosevelt:  "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." 

How do you see the world changing around you? What trends are you noticing? 

In my job we have seen the revolution of Internet and we had to change our business model. That’s why we had to develop our online store. 

How do you feel about the future little citizens will live in? 

I am confident, the new generation is very inventive. 

What is your favourite smell? 

The ocean, I love to swim. 

What’s your most treasured possession? 

A collection of comic books Michel Vaillant that my grandfather offered me when I was a child. 

Where do you find inspiration? 

Facing the ocean with a good glass of wine. 

How do you relax? 

In my bath.  

Name other designers who you love and are inspired by: 

Ercole SpadaGiovanni Michelotti, Leonardo Fioravanti they are all very great automobile designers. 

What single thing would improve the quality of your life immensely? 

To have 48 hours in a day. 

What is something you have thought of which really should exist but it doesn’t yet? 

A time machine.  

Out of all the things your child has now what will you save for the day they become parents themselves? 

The photo albums of their childhood.

What does a family heirloom mean to you? Can you give an example of something your family holds dear to their heart? 

Something which reminds goods memories as a family house where you spend vacations.

Recommend a piece of art that everyone should see because it can change your life: 

I had a chance to visit the extraordinary collection of the vintage cars by Ralph Lauren at the Paris Musée des Arts DécoratifsIt’s a magnificent souvenir. These cars are pure piece of art!
