Moomin Land Exhibition at Southbank in London

posted on February 03 2017

Moominpappa, Moominmamma, little Moomintroll, Moomin who?

If you aren't familiar with the Moomins, a genius imaginary land illustrated by Tove Jansson then have a watch below. This is one of our top recommendation of things to watch for kids.

Tove Marika Jansson was a Swedish-speaking Finnish novelist, painter, illustrator and comic strip author. She received the Hans Christian Andersen Medal in 1966 for her writing and now we have the chance to enter this magical land.

'Adventures in Moominland' is an interactive exhibit where you climb in and are led as a group through the real Moominland meeting characters, setting sail and huddling in caves. The exhibition at the South Bank Centre is on now until 23rd April.

Did you know that the Nordic Tove Jansson and the Irish Lewis Carroll collaborated on a couple of books? Have a look at our book selection here.

Beautifully written by Lewis Carroll and then brought to life by Tove Jansson's original illustration these make treasure gifts of literature, especially for families with a love for Irish or Swedish heritage. Highly recommended.
