Name and number of children
Where are you based?
Where are you from?
How did the idea for your business come about?
I had my own womenswear label for 10 years selling in U.S. After I had my daughter, I was so inspired to do a children’s wear line. That’s how I started.
What’s innovative about what you do?
I love working on prints of my own and I’m very inspired by vintage clothes and fabric prints. I love mixing vintage and modern.
Do you feel that you’ve got your work/life balance right?
Yes, I love multi tasking! I love my work so much and I can look after my kids because I work at home. I enjoy the convenience and show my kids my work at the same time.
Do you ever wish you didn’t have a company to run and that you worked for someone else so you could leave your work in the office?
No, I always love having my own business. I have full control in what I do. I make every decision base on my own discretion. It’s great!!
How do you think of motherhood?
I love being a mom and I love my kids!! It is challenging at times and I try to do my best. I like to know what I’m doing is right so I love reading many different parenting books. I’ll try to figure out what’s the best for me and my family after I read them. They tend to be very helpful for me.
How have you changed since you became a parent?
Not much. I’m still who I am except I try to be extra patient with my kids.
What is unique about designing for children?
I only know it’s really the most natural thing for me aesthetically. I love child-like, whimsical, nostalgic style and that is exactly how I design for children. I feel so excited everytime I start a new collection and start working on collecting my inspirations. I can be true to my heart when I design for them.
What are your future plans for your business / designs?
I’m developing an additional line which is going to be dress up and costume for children. I’m sooo excited about it!
It’s going to be so fun!
What is your favourite smell?
I love the scent of a baby.
What’s your most treasured possession?
A pair of vintage gold earrings that my husband bought for me during our honeymoon in Florence.
When do you find inspiration?
Anytime anywhere really!
How do you relax?
I do funky dance 4 times a week.
What single thing would improve the quality of your life immensely?
Having a good nanny!!
Out of all the things your child has now what will you save for the day they become parents themselves?
My notes I wrote when I became pregnant til now. I wrote down all the important milestones they had and all the recipes I cooked for them.
